This unit forms the floor base to hold two grappler pivots. Insert two Olympic barbells into the pivots to make a TWO HANDED angled barbell training set-up that can accommodate a wide variety of handle types (sold separately). You can do literally dozens (perhaps hundreds) of exercises with this unit; make unique combinations of aerobic and strength movements that can be done sequentially in a non-stop manner.
For those who already own two pivot units, we also sell the double floor base alone as a separate unit. This is so that you can save money while upgrading to a double unit.
An Internet search of the terms "landmine training," "grappler training," or "angled barbell training" will reveal many of the numerous possibilities. This is one of the best ways to work excess fat off the abdomen and sides of your trunk (those stubborn "love handles" WILL finally succumb to the assault of consistent, prolonged, hard landmine training). It is no wonder that landmine training is exploding (no pun intended) on the fitness scene.
The pictures show the Double Grappler Unit in varying degrees of set-up. The first step is to drop the two pivot units into the base unit's pivot receiver posts. Olympic plates are then piled onto the base unit's support posts to anchor the unit (the red colored Olympic plates are used for stability of the base only, and do NOT provide resistance for the exercise). Next, one end each of two Olympic barbells are inserted into each of the two pivot units, and locked into place with a thumbscrew. Note: many of our competitors do not include a thumbscrew on their landmine pivot units, but we do because of the additional safety that it provides by preventing slippage of the barbell out of the pivot.
Finally, the opposite end of each barbell is loaded with the resistance weights (the black plates), a handle, and a collar to hold it all in place. There are many types of handles available for specific uses, such as T-bar rowing. This Double Grappler Unit, in combination with some specialty handles, can perform the function of many machines that you would find in a commercial gym. The Olympic plates, Olympic collars, and Olympic barbells are not included and must be obtained separately. Specialty handles (such as the T-Bar Rowing Handles seen in the photographs) are not included and must be purchased separately.
